Connecting students through Padlet!

Padlet allows you or your students to post content of any kind, or vote, comment, or "like" someone's else's content. I've used it for student poetry and art submissions, and to involve students in selecting books for the library. For the later project, I first posted a google doc on the virtual library where kids could request books, then posted the titles on a padlet where they could vote for books they would actually read if added to the library's collection. To ensure that I was providing a variety of interests and genres, I used the column format and labeled them at the top. To add content to each column, I clicked on the plus sign at the top, typed in the title and author, and then added a link from goodreads. This generated a photo to display, and provided a short summary as well as reviews for interested students. If your students are anything like mine, they made their favorite genre very clear--manga, manga, manga! A lot of my selections were on backorder, but I definitely plan to have a manga dress up day or some other way to celebrate once the books come in. (But that's for another post. :)
Share your innovative padlet projects with me--I'd love to get some fresh ideas!
